With approximately 18,000 passengers departing daily, Nashville International Airport (BNA) is the busiest airport in Tennessee, acting as a gateway to Music City for both domestic and international travelers and supporting more than 76,000 jobs in the region.
In 2020, the Metro Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) kicked off an expansive renovation project of the existing BNA terminal to better serve air travelers in the ever-growing metropolitan Nashville region. Under the name BNA Vision, the scope of the project offered new possibilities for dining, shopping, and relaxation, while also expanding and improving existing security areas. This massive, multi-year project earned a prestigious Merit Award from AIA Middle Tennessee’s 2021 Design Awards, for cutting-edge architecture and design for the expansion program as a whole, as well as for individual projects within.
Taking BNA’s terminal design to new heights, architectural firm TMPartners helped to deliver a seamless integration of BNA Vision’s masterplan, to both airport concourse upgrades and new construction. Part of the plan included revamped flooring and restrooms, to ensure that the new BNA standards were aligned throughout all public service areas in the airport.
Focusing on improving customer conveniences and amenities, BNA now has more than doubled the number of restroom facilities and boasts four times the square footage of restroom space compared with when the BNA Vision project launched. New and refurbished restrooms now include a fresh, contemporary design, and touchless technology.
ASI Group worked with the TMPartners architects to deliver a cohesive modern approach for restrooms that aligned with the sleek aesthetic of BNA’s Grand Lobby design. The restroom design included ASI Group’s stainless steel metal partitions and urinal screens, toilet tissue dispensers, grab bars, shelves, and waste receptacles, helping give flight to TMPartner’s overall design vision.
ASI Group partitions, washroom accessories, lockers, and visual display products are featured in some of the world’s most prominent airport projects.
